PhraseTalk-A

Simplified phrase based communication for literate adults. Designed for someone with a degenerative condition who wants to use phrases to communicate face to face and by mobile phone. Phrases could either be built up by a user previously (e.g. using StarTalker) or simply added by a carer.

I like the StarTalker grids by Sensory, however often they are overkill. This is a start of trying to make some simple communication grids for literate adults.

Phrase-Talk A:

  • Phrase-Talk A is based mainly around the use of phrases. Phrases could either be built up by a user previously (e.g. using StarTalker) or simply added by a carer (type the message into the message bar and press 'add phrase' using the mouse).
  • Includes access to mobile phone  - user chooses a phrase from the first screen and presses the phone button. The message is copied into next screen to compose a text message.
Also simplified sending of SMS, reading of inbox and calling of contacts.
  • Setup for simple scanning (with custom blocks set) - could also be used with halving/quatering or other scan methods.

Version A1.0: Phrase+Phone+EC.

Please send comments and suggestions - I will evolve these grids as we use them.
