Demonstration of Grid2 Functions

Grid developed to demonstrate some of the key features of the Grid2.

Start page links to demonstrations of various aspects of Grid2

Indicator cells – This jumps to a page which enables the shift key to be demonstrated. This was to make clearer what changing the indicator cell colours would do and what indicator cells are.

Scanning – This jumps to a page which then links to two different scanning options. The user settings need to be changed to demonstrate the differences but one has random blocks set up so that it demonstrates how you can create a personalized scanning system.

Prediction – This jumps to a page which demonstrates prediction, abbreviation expansion, auto replace and phrase linking.

I have saved the bundle with the user settings so if you type hh it will give you ‘hello how are you?’ in the prediction cells and if you type hru space it will auto replace with ‘how are you?’ If you click on ‘like’ and ‘grid’ it will phrase link to give ‘Do you like Grid2?’

Autocontent – This jumps to a page set up to demonstrate autocontent cells and maneuvering through autocells.

Workspaces – Links to Star Talker grids as this seemed the best way to demonstrate different workspaces

Cell background – Links to grid which shows the different types of background available for cells

Background – Links to a grid which links to grids showing the different types of grid background available.

Cell size menu – Links to a grid which links to a grid set up to fill the page and a grid set up proportional to the height of the cells

Word lists – To demonstrate the different ways of using the word lists I set up one word list with a single word in and then had another word list which I could import with more words in and also a text document with other words in so I could demonstrate that way of importing too.

To demonstrate importing from a text document use something like wordpad and type a list of words, then save document as text only. This can then be imported into the grid. I just created a different list of food to the list contained in the wordlists within the grid.
